About this Class

One of the requests we often get from our Beyond Bulletproof community is learning mental strategies for overcoming the pain and suffering caused by someone else. Whether that individual was someone they deeply cared for, were only acquainted with, or a complete stranger, part of the recovery process involves trying to understand the why of the act; the reason that person chose to hurt them.

What You'll Learn

To be direct, there is no depth to which humans won’t hurt one another. People can justify almost anything to themselves. As harsh as that reality is, once accepted, it’s often the pivot point toward moving beyond the pain because we’re no longer shocked or confused by what’s been done.

In this session, you’ll learn:

  • Why the Rational Choice Theory of risk versus reward helps explain cruelty
  • How the Dark Factor of Personality traits play a role in behavior
  • When empathy can become harmful
  • How the Spirit of Abstraction is used to justify violence

“I don’t think people who are bad people think they are bad people”
